The Hinton Area Foundation is happy to announce the recipients of this year’s Making A Difference (MAD) Grant. Congratulations go to:

Beyond Wishes Therapeutic Riding Program: which was awarded $2,200 to be used toward the building of a sheltered riding ring.

The City of Hinton: which was awarded $5,000 to be used toward the City of Hinton 11th Avenue  dilapidated building removal project

The Wild, Wonderful and Healthy Summers County Project of the Summers County Huddle: which was awarded $1,500 to be used toward the reclamation of open space to build a playground and community garden space in Central Hinton.

Camp Summers: which was awarded $1,000 to be used toward the purchase of a generator to maintain camp water supply during power outages.

In the spirit of those who started the Making A Difference Fund with a vision to give back to Summers County, the Hinton Area Foundation gives priority to project proposals which contribute to community beautification and improvement in Summers County.  We also encourage applicants to have a commitment of matching funds, and to stimulate community involvement by organizing volunteer help or collaborating with other groups for the sustainability of their project.

The Hinton Area Foundation uses the income of our Making A Difference endowed fund to award these grants each Fall.  To our grant recipients, the Foundation thanks you for your conscientious efforts on behalf of the Summers County community.  We truly appreciate your service and are delighted to be able to help fund your successful contribution to its improvement.
